Unless prevented by illness, students are required to attend school all day of every day the school is open. When illness prevents a student's attendance, parents are asked to advise the school, then on return to school, the student will need to bring a note from a parent or guardian explaining the absence. Parents are asked to arrange shopping excursions and make appointments with specialists, dentists, opticians, etc, outside school hours as far as possible.
The Department of School Education has appointed Home-School Liaison Officers who regularly check rolls for attendance and will visit parents when there is a history of absence, whether it be explained or not.
Lateness Students habitually arriving late for school will be asked to explain their lateness to the Principal or Deputy Principal. Notes from parents will assist in deciding whether the lateness is satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
Early Leavers When needing to collect a child from school during school hours, parents will be asked to sign a register at the School Office. For security reasons, students will not be permitted to wait for parents during school hours anywhere other than at the School Office.
