CASTLE HILL SHOW, a recount by Victoria 3H

Last Friday, all students from Years two to six travelled by bus to Castle Hill Show.  We were there to have fun and look at all the exhibits.  I was in Mr Hayward's group.

On our arrival we strolled to the Animal Nursery.  I loved holding the cute baby guinea pigs.  After that we bolted into the Education Pavilion where there were High School exhibits of farm animals and produce.  My favourite part was holding the fluffy chicks.  In a short time we dawdled into the Craft pavilion.  I saw lots of interesting supplies.

Later on we roamed into the Horticulture pavilion.  I saw bonsai, beautiful floral arrangements, flowers and huge, gigantic pumpkins.  Following that we raced to the Federation pavilion.  I thought it was great fun.  Next we ambled into the Poultry pavilion.  It was very noisy there.

At noon it was time for lunch.  I sat with my friends.  Then we bought our showbags.  After that we headed back to the carpark.  I thought it was brilliant and I'm looking forward to going there again.  I loved the baby guinea pigs most of all.

HARMONY DAY

NEW PLAYGROUND OPENING

With the completion of the new softfall playground area, an opening ceremony was held where a student from each class was invited to the ribbon-cutting event.

The area was so popular at recess that it was standing room only. Thank you to our wonderful Uniform Shop manager and volunteers. The Uniform Shop paid for the safe play surface the children now enjoy.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA AT SCHOOL

NEW PARENT BBQ

Thank you to the Executive of the P&C for the New Parent Barbecue. The opportunity for new families to get to know one another was enjoyed by many. The school's student leadership team from Year Six did an outstanding job organising activities for the children who attended to give the parents a chance to get to know one another better. Thank you also to the dedicated staff who came along to support the P&C and the student leadership team. Miss Fernandes, Mrs Buckham, Mrs Lewis, Mrs Ambler, Miss Speth and Mrs Gibbons all gave up part of their weekend to join in the day.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Despite the heat the annual swimming carnival was a success. The staff of Year Three organised and ran a wonderful carnival with the help of staff and many parent volunteers. Thank you to those parent volunteers who made it possible for us to run the carnival for the students. We wish those who will compete at the Zone Carnival in March well in their next competition and congratulate individual winners and Wattle House on their victories.
