MONACO'S NATIONAL
DAY - FRIDAY 12TH NOVEMBER, 1999
Castle
Hill was nominated as the welcoming school for Monaco for the
Olympic Games. Shortly before the games commenced, a group of 30
students went to the Olympic Village to sing a song of welcome for
the Monaco Team as their national flag was raised. Students
learnt all about Monaco during their French lessons, and
the school made contact with Madame Miriam Wylie-Boisbouvier who was
the Monagasque Olympic Attache. Madame Boisbouvier visited the
school on Monaco's National Day. Local Member, Mr Michael
Richardson was able to bring along an Olympic Torch to show us. Students
were seated in the Courtyard to form the letters of Monaco and the
Monagasque flag.
