REPORTING TO PARENTS |

Parents are encouraged to be fully conversant with each child's progress. Teachers welcome opportunities to discuss students with their parents. Interviews can be arranged at convenient times and parents are encouraged to join in scheduled programs such as the Parent/Teacher Nights in mid-Term 1 and Open Day/Night during Education Week in Term 3.
Teachers are continually assessing each student both for performance and for application, using a variety of techniques to ensure learning is taking place. These techniques include observation and testing. Written reports on these evaluations are prepared at the end of each semester by the class teacher to give a complete picture of your child's progress.
Children vary in natural talent and abilities and for this reason the school is concerned as to whether the child is making as much progress as he/she is capable of making. The school is interested in the child's progress in the individual school subjects and also in the overall growth and adjustment of the child to school life.
In June, Student Portfolios will be forwarded to parents of all students, and parents are invited to attend Parent/Teacher interviews. In December, Student Portfolios incorporating a written report are prepared and forwarded to parents of all students.
The Reports are to let you know whether, after careful ongoing assessment, your child is making progress according to his/her ability. Individual marks or place in grade are not provided. |
